The 3rd Annual Light The Nations will take place Saturday, October 20th.  The family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, art, vendors, and kid zone with bounce house and face painting.

Belgian-inspired restaurant set for The Nations

Belgian-inspired restaurant and bar The Cardinal is slated to open this fall at Stocking 51 in The Nations.  According to a release, the husband-and-wife team of chef Tony Galzin and director of operations Caroline Galzin will own and operate the business, to have an address of 1410 51st Ave. N.

Frothy Monkey to open new location in The Nations

The Tennessean is reporting that the Frothy Monkey has signed a lease to open it’s sixth location in the The Nations.  The first Frothy Monkey opened on 12th Avenue South as the 12South neighborhood was just starting to boom.  Other local favorites, including Corner Pub and 12South Taproom, have also announced plans to expand to the The Nations.  The new Frothy Monkey will be located at Centennial and 51st Avenue North.

The Nation’s latest development to include 193 unit apartment building

The Tennessean is reporting that work will be begin early next year on a new development in the Nations to be named Silo Bend.   The project, located at the corner of Centennial Boulevard and New York Avenue, will include apartment and retail buildings, and single-family homes.

Owners of 12South Taproom to open new location in The Nations

The Nashville Post is reporting that the owners of the 12South Taproom will be opening another neighborhood pub in The Nations.   51N Taproom is anticipated to open in late spring and will be very similar to the 12South Taproom featuring a wide range of beers in a casual, family friendly atmosphere.  For more details see the entire Nashville Post article.

Corner Pub to open in The Nations in ’17

Corner Pub — the popular neighborhood sports bar that operates in Green Hills and recently closed in Midtown — will open in The Nations in early 2017.  The business will have an address of 1105 51st Ave. N. and be housed in a church structure that was built 1950s see here courtesy of Google Maps) and considered one of the fast-changing district’s architectural landmarks of sorts. Similarly, most locals consider 51st the key street in The Nations.

Craft beer bar to open in The Nations

McDougal’s Chicken co-founder preps July unveiling for The Old Gas Station.  Nashville-based restaurateur John McDougal is targeting a July opening for a craft beer bar in The Nations.  McDougal, who opened McDougal’s Chicken Fingers and Wings in Hillsboro Village with brother Tommy in 2004, has named the neighborhood bar The Old Gas Station, with the moniker recognizing the property’s former use as a vehicle-centric business. The building address is 5205 Centennial Blvd., one block west of the T-intersection of Centennial and 51st, which some feel will be the epicenter of the transitioning The Nations within the next few years.

House, a Social Eatery, to open in former Stone Fox location

Nashville Eater is reporting that the House, a Social Eatery, will soon open in the former Nations neighborhood favorite Stone Fox location.   House will be open 7 days a week, for lunch and dinner, and brunch all day.  There will be a full bar as well as a wide selection of local craft beers.

Tony and Caroline Galzin Announce New Restaurant, Nicky’s Coal Fired, in The Nations

Ever since chef Tony Galzin and his wife Caroline left acclaimed new restaurant Fifty First Kitchen in February, we’ve been wondering about their next project.  Now we know: It’s called Nicky’s Coal Fired, and it’s in the new Stocking 51 project, a redeveloped hosiery mill at 51st Avenue North and Centennial Boulevard in The Nations neighborhood of West Nashville. It’s expected to open this fall.
