Taco Shop Confirms Plans for Sylvan Park

It’s now official, the old Local Taco in Sylvan Park will as expected become a Pancho & Lefty’s. Nashville Business Journal spoke to co-owner Will Newman, who finally confirmed the news today. Newman referenced an anticipated opening of late January, and says the new location at 4501 Murphy Road will sport more of a neighborhood feel with a focus on creating a family-friendly patio.

New Sylvan Park Restaurant to Open First Week in April

Eater Nashville is reporting Answer will be opening in Sylvan Park on April 4.  Located on 46th Avenue next to Scout’s Barbershop, the family friendly restaurant will feature sharable plates between $5 and $25. Latest News regarding Proposed I-440 Greenway

The Tennessean is reporting that Metro Nashville has applied for 30 million in federal funds to build a Greenway that will to run along I-440 from I-65 split to I-40 Intersection.  The project, to be complete by 2022, will connect several Nashville neighborhoods including Sylvan Park, Richland/Cherokee Park, Hillsboro-West End, Belmont-Hillsboro, 12South and Wedgewood-Houston.

Connecting Communities, One Greenway at a Time

Nora Kern, 25, bikes each day from her home in East Nashville to her job on Music Row.  As the executive director of Walk Bike Nashville, she is perfectly comfortable zipping along bike lanes to get there, but Kern acknowledges there are plenty of other people who would commute by bike, too, if there was a safer way.

Mixed-used project planned in Sylvan Park

A Mt. Juliet-based developer has 0.84 acres in Sylvan Park under contract with plans for a mixed-used development.  The project would be the second in that area for Commercial Realty Services, which transformed the former Hostess bakery building at 42nd and Charlotte avenues into a retail building with tenants including Flip Burger and the Beer Pale.

Wine Bar, Farm Burger, and Double Dogs coming to Sylvan Heights

A wine bar/kitchen is among three tenants announced for the 20,000 square feet of retail space at Hill Center Sylvan Heights mixed-use development on Charlotte Avenue.

The second Nashville location of casual bar and restaurant chain Double Dogs and Nashville’s first Farm Burger farm-to-table boutique burger joint will join the new wine concept called Sorting Table as tenants in the H.G. Hill Realty Co. development.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que owners Catherine and Will Newman are targeting a spring 2016 opening in a new building planned for the Sylvan Park roundabout at Murphy Road/46th Avenue.

Nashville-based attorney Guy Marsh and business partner Jim Chandler own the land on which Edley’s will own and operate the new building, which local firm Tuck Hinton Architects is designing. A rendering has not been released, Marsh said.
