Jackalope Brewing Company is getting into the expansion game, as word is out today that the Gulch brewery will be opening up a second production facility and taproom in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.  The new production facility and taproom will open by next summer.

Belgian-inspired restaurant set for The Nations

Belgian-inspired restaurant and bar The Cardinal is slated to open this fall at Stocking 51 in The Nations.  According to a release, the husband-and-wife team of chef Tony Galzin and director of operations Caroline Galzin will own and operate the business, to have an address of 1410 51st Ave. N.

The Nashville Post is reporting that the Soler Sisters of Edgehill’s Old Glory and East Nashville’s No. 308 have signed lease in new Wedgewood-Houston project.  Plans for the project located at 509 Houston Street have have yet to be released.

UPDATE FROM Nashville Post Full-scale work is underway on the Wedgewood-Houston former church building in which Nashville-based restaurateur Alexis Soler and some business partners will unveil their next neighborhood bar concept.

Metro is moving forward with a long-discussed plan to transform 46 acres of asphalt, concrete and gravel at The Fairgrounds Nashville into a park and green space, injecting new public uses into the city-owned property south of downtown.   Eight multi-use soccer fields, a 1.3-mile greenway, a dog park and other amenities are planned for the underutilized, flood-prone part of the fairgrounds on the site’s south end that is flanked by Brown’s Creek.

New Sylvan Park Restaurant to Open First Week in April

Eater Nashville is reporting Answer will be opening in Sylvan Park on April 4.  Located on 46th Avenue next to Scout’s Barbershop, the family friendly restaurant will feature sharable plates between $5 and $25. From Nashville Post:  Nashville-based developer FMBC Investments is targeting a late-year start on a shipping container residential building on a Wedgewood-Houston parcel adjacent to the site on which Metro is eyeing a soccer stadium.   To be located at 2150 Byrum Ave. (see the site here courtesy of Google Maps), the three-story residential structure will offer 83 units and be called 83 Freight. Previously, the building was to have included 91 units.

Hotel Air BTB proposed for East Nashville

The Tennessean is reporting that local business owner Bobby Bubis is proposing to open a 21-room hotel on the corner of Main Street and McFerrin in East Nashville.  Rooms will be marketed through short-term rental site Air BnB.  Project will be presented to Metro Development and Housing Agency’s design review agency in February.  For more details read the full article @ The Tennessean.

Bristol gives up on 12South project

Franklin-based Bristol Development Group is walking away from plans for an apartment project in 12South.  The Tennessean reports that Bristol will no longer buy the Tabernacle Baptist Church property at 2214 12th Ave. S., which it has had under contract for a year and a half. Bristol’s interest in the property was first reported more than two years ago.
