46th Ave N and Murphy Rd Streetscape Project

From Nasvhille.gov

A new streetscape project is planned for the Sylvan Park neighborhood along the 46th Avenue North / Murphy Road corridor between 44th Avenue North and Colorado Avenue.

New sidewalks, on-street parking, street lighting, and landscaping features will be installed.  The intersection at 46th Avenue North and Murphy Road will be highlighted by a new single lane urban roundabout.

The project will improve pedestrian access throughout the successful and active neighborhood commercial district while improving traffic flow and maintaining access to local businesses.  Metro Public Works will be working directly with the neighborhood and business owners to design a complete street that balances the need for access while also improving mobility and aesthetics.

The project is in the design stage with construction work expected to begin Spring 2014.  The project is projected to be completed Fall 2014.

Project Team: Led by Metro Public Works Engineering Division, project team members include Metro Parks and Recreation, Metro Water Services, RPM Transportation Consultants and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. For additional information about the project, contact Jonathan Cleghon, PE, Metro Project Engineer with Public Works at 615-862-8595 or email: jonathan.cleghon@nashville.gov
